Parsley oil
Parsley essential oil, steam distilled from the seeds, roots and leaves of the parsley herb (Petroselinum crispum), contains many healthy plant compounds and has a spicy, woody and herbal fragrance.
Parsley oil contains vitamins A and C, and the active compounds apigenin and apiole, which give it powerful anti-oxidant, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties. This makes parsley essential oil useful to reduce infections and inflammation and fight free-radical damage.
Parsley essential oil also has diuretic, carminative and anti-spasmodic properties which may relieve water retention, treat indigestion, nausea and cramps and encourage efficient detoxification.
Directions for use
Use parsley oil topically to reduce stomach cramps, inflammation, water retention, signs of aging and infections by diluting 2-3 drops with a carrier oil and massage it into the affected areas.
Add 2-3 drops to an oil burner or diffuser, or add 4 drops to a bath to inhale the aroma and relieve tension. Parsley essential oil is compatible with rose, orange, tea tree, and ylang ylang oil which can be blended together for massage and aromatherapy.
