The Carob is a long pod containing small beans and a sweet, edible pulp that when roasted tastes similar to chocolate, but unlike chocolate, it has no caffeine. Kharoub molasses have a very distinct flavor and go well in many recipes. Many people plate pure carob molasses and tahini (ground sesame paste) side by side and dip pita bread in them for an extremely delicious treat.
