Black Seed Oil
Black seed oil is obtained from the Nigella sativa plant and has a spicy, woody and earthy aroma. It is considered a blessed oil in the Islamic religion as the prophet Muhammad believed black seed oil to be a cure for all ills.
There have been many scientific studies on the health benefits of black seed oil, which include powerful anti-oxidant, anti-microbial, anti-cancer, immune-boosting and anti-inflammatory properties. It may lower high blood pressure, improve diabetes markers and reduce digestive complaints when taken internally.
When used externally, black seed oil may prevent infections, heal skin cancer and treat wounds, burns, acne and eczema.
Uses
The recommended dosage for taking black seed oil internally is 1 teaspoon per day, although you should speak to your doctor first.
Use black seed oil topically by combining a few drops with carrier oil and massaging it into muscles and joints and onto the skin. You can also enjoy the health benefits and peppery aroma by adding a few drops to an oil diffuser or a warm bath.
