Lavender Oil
Lavender oil, extracted from the flowers of the lavender plant, has a sweet floral aroma and is a treasured and versatile essential oil. The ancient Greeks, Romans and Egyptians loved lavender for its fragrance and health benefits.
Lavender oil is one of the safest essential oils and is popular in aromatherapy to promote sleep and reduce stress and anxiety of the body and mind.
It contains compounds called terpenoids which are responsible for many of the health benefits when inhaled and used externally. Terpenoid compounds have expectorant, anti-itch, pain-relieving, anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory effects, and lavender oil can be used to treat acne, burns, scarring, inflammatory skin conditions, sunburn, razor burn, wounds, sore muscles and joints, and respiratory conditions.
Lavender oil is also an effective mosquito and insect repellent.
Directions for use
