Mint Oil
Hemani Mint oil, or Hemani peppermint oil, is a fantastic essential oil that everyone should have in their medicine cabinet. It has a strong, refreshing aroma that can boost energy and alertness, and has many therapeutic health benefits due to its menthol content.
Mint oil has been found to have anti-microbial, anti-spasmodic, pain-relieving and expectorant properties which make it wonderful to relieve sore muscles, painful joints, headaches, cramps and IBS, allergies and congested sinuses. Uses
To relieve headaches, congested sinuses and allergies, inhale mint oil by adding a few drops to an oil diffuser, or apply 2 drops to the temples or chest area. Massage sore and stiff muscles with 2-3 drops of mint oil mixed in carrier oil to relieve pain.
It can be used to relieve cramps, digestive problems and IBS symptoms by massaging it into the abdomen, or by taking 1 drop of mint oil in a glass of water before a meal.
Mint oil has a cooling effect and can be used to ease sunburn by applying it to the affected area or soaking in a warm bath with 3-5 drops of oil. This essential oil can also be added to toothpaste or mouthwash to freshen breath, relieve tooth pain and kill microbes associated with poor oral hygiene.
To prevent ants and cockroaches invading your kitchen, add a few drops of mint oil to a water bottle and apply it to surfaces.
